Occuring the first Monday in May, the annual Met Gala is the main fundraiser for The Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute. The event is organized in partnership with Vogue. It inagurates the year’s exhibit and brings together members of the fashion industry for a dinner at the museum. Based on Susan Sontag's 1964 essay "Notes on ‘Camp”, this exhibit explored the signficance and meaning of camp; as well as how this exhuberant and ironic aesthetic has influenced fashion through time.
